Help with your roof insurance claim

A roof claim goes better with good photos and a roofer on the ladder when the adjuster comes. We handle that part and explain each step, so you know what you're agreeing to.

How we help

  • A free drone inspection with photos of every slope and the damage we find
  • An emergency tarp if water is getting in, so interior damage doesn't add up
  • A Bohon roofer on the roof with your adjuster, so nothing gets missed on the estimate
  • A written estimate for the repair or replacement
  • A hand-nailed install and a final walkthrough before you sign off

What we don't do

We're roofers, not public adjusters. Texas law doesn't allow a contractor who is doing the work to act as a public adjuster, negotiate your settlement, or represent you to your insurance company. So we show the adjuster what we found and answer questions about the roof, and the claim stays between you and your insurer.

Be wary of any roofer who offers to handle the claim for you or tells you what your policy will pay before the adjuster has seen the roof.

You pay your deductible

In Texas it's illegal for a contractor to waive, rebate, or absorb your insurance deductible. A roofing contract of $1,000 or more that's expected to be paid from a claim has to say so in bold print. If a roofer offers to cover your deductible, keep looking.

Arkansas homeowners

Arkansas adds a protection if your claim is denied. Before you sign a residential repair contract, the contractor has to give you a written notice of your right to cancel within three business days after your insurer tells you in writing that all or part of the claim isn't covered. Our Texarkana, Arkansas page explains how it works.

Before the adjuster comes

  • Know your deductible and have your policy and claim numbers handy
  • Keep the photos you took after the storm, with the date
  • Save receipts for tarps or emergency repairs
  • Let us know the appointment time so we can plan to be there

Good questions

Straight answers

Should I call my insurance company or you first?

Either order works. A free inspection first tells you whether there's damage worth claiming. If water is coming in, call us for a tarp right away and report the damage to your insurer too.

What if the adjuster says there's no damage?

Ask your insurance company how to dispute or request another look, and share our photos with them. The coverage decision is theirs, but good documentation gives them the full picture.
