Roofing in Nash, Texas

Nash sits just west of Texarkana, a short drive from our office. We inspect, repair, and replace roofs for homes and businesses here.

About Nash

Nash grew up in the 1870s at a junction on the Texas and Pacific railroad and took its current name in 1906, after railroad division superintendent Manny Nash. It incorporated in the 1950s and sits on U.S. 82 in eastern Bowie County, right next to Texarkana.

Contractors register with the city

The City of Nash has contractors fill out a registration form, with the company's contact information and license number, and get it approved before they can pull a permit. Permits and inspections are handled through City Hall.

If you're hiring someone for work that needs a city permit, ask whether they're registered with Nash. The city's permitting information is at nashtx.org/city-permitting-information.

Keeping a roof healthy

A few habits catch most problems before they turn into leaks:

  • Keep gutters clear of leaves and pine needles so water drains off the roof edge
  • Trim limbs that hang over the roof before a storm brings them down
  • Check the attic for stains or damp insulation a couple of times a year
  • Watch for cracked plumbing vent boots, one of the most common leak sources
  • Look for missing or lifted shingles after any strong wind

Fall storms count too

Most people think of spring as storm season. The National Weather Service office in Shreveport also notes a second tornado peak from mid-November to mid-December, and hail and wind can come with those storms. If a fall storm comes through Nash, give your roof the same once-over you would in April.

Close by when you need us

Being a few miles away means we can come look at a small problem before it becomes a big one. Inspections and estimates are free, and if your roof has years left, we'll tell you.
